Junior Sustainability Consultant

Location: Edinburgh, hybrid.

We are looking for an early or entry-stage Sustainability Consultant to join us in the team at Thrive Consulting Services Ltd (Thrive).

The position offers an exciting opportunity for someone to work on a wide range of clients' projects across the UK, helping them to set, implement and progress their sustainability goals.

Role overview

As a Junior-level Sustainability Consultant, you will support the senior team members in delivering key projects, conducting research and analysis, and assisting with project management as well as business development. 

Your role will be crucial in helping our clients develop and implement sustainable strategies across various sectors.

This role is Edinburgh-based, with flexible working. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sustainability audits and strategy development

  • Conduct research into key issues, regulations, stakeholder views, sector best practices, and emerging sustainability tools and solutions

  • Analysis and reporting of qualitative and quantitive data for to create benchmarks, insights and informing sustainability strategies.  

  • Assist in preparing sustainability reports, proposals, and presentations for clients

  • Support team in coordinating and delivering client projects on time and within budget

  • Participate in client meetings to gather data and present findings

  • Help develop sustainability strategies and action plans for clients across different industries

  • Contribute to the company's internal sustainability, knowledge-sharing and marketing initiatives

Skills & Experience

Essential 

  • Experience in consulting or working in a medium/large business. 

  • Strong research, data analysis and report development skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and emerging (e.g. IFRS, GRI, SASB)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to travel across the UK for client projects

Desireable

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field

  • Familiarity with major UK and EU sustainability-related regulations and policies
